Fall Detox

The Seasons are a time of transition and an optimal time for doing a detox. Fall is such a beautiful time for this, the leaves are changing colors and the tempetures are getting cooler. Many religions and cultures do seasonal detoxes. In Ayurveda, the ancient science of life, they do 2-3 detoxes annually. This rids the body of the past season and prepares the body and mind for the next season.

I decided to do a Fall Detox a few weeks back, with the advice of my nurse practitioner. I did the Prolon Detox. Prolon is a 5 day detox that consists of soups, vitamins and nutritional bars. I did not feel hungry in between meals and the meals satiated me to my surprise. My body went through some changes from feeling flu like to have an abundance of energy. My mind and thoughts became very clear. My skin looked better than it had in months and I lost 7lbs. I felt as if my body and mind did a beautiful reset. I was so pleased with the results that I plan on doing one at the change of every Season.

Before starting any detox please speak to your health practitioner. You can research different detoxes. I prefer one that has actual food not just juices, broths and water.

A detox is a beautiful way to reset the mind, body and spirit. It is a time for reflection and a time to plan a new beginning; a changing of a Season.
